The Rancher’s Wife & The Historic Grain Elevator
Located inside the historic Lovejoy Grain Elevator (604 3rd Street)
Website: The Rancher’s Wife
The Lovejoy Grain Elevator was built in 1910 and operated until 1980. The building sat vacant for decades before becoming home to The Rancher’s Wife in 2013.
Today, the space features more than 75 vendors and artisans selling antiques, vintage treasures, western décor, furniture, Colorado-made goods, and seasonal finds. The raw concrete walls and ceilings of the elevator still remain, giving shoppers a chance to experience one of Berthoud’s most recognizable historic landmarks from the inside.
One unexpected thing to watch for? Some shoppers say the upstairs bookstore may still have a ghost tossing books from the shelves.
Pro tip: Grab the antique shop map from The Rancher’s Wife before exploring downtown.
